Phoenix from Middlesbrough and representing Akurei MMA. After a touch of gloves they got right down to business.

Phoenix jabbed and Josh fired a low leg kick.

But from then on it was “Rock em Sock em” robots.

Phoenix a southpaw was jabbing with a lead right and swinging the left.

Josh was just able to counter and avoid the return strike.

There was very little in it. It is a game of millimetres, but Josh was just able to keep that distance and generally control the exchanges.

It was a high calibre slugfest and such a spectacle for as long as it lasted.

With such pace and ferocity something had to give. Unfortunately Phoenix caught one too many left hooks and crumpled to the canvas.

Tim Close called a stop to the all action fight after 1:39 of round 1! What a debut by both contestants. 

A very hard fought win for Josh Oyston. It was later revealed that he had broken his hand. That is what you get for hitting so hard.
