Dangerous Davey Grant vs Jonathan The Dragon Martinez.

Round 1: Creative combinations, light on his feet and nice footwork from the underdog Davey. Three spinning wheel kicks even. He absorbed some heavy leg kick and was just failing to connect with anything significant. Crisp stuff from both guys. Close round that tipped in Martinez’s favour as he landed an overhand right that dropped Davey with 20 seconds of the round left.

Cornering: Fantastic! One minute of solid work. Having lost the round due to the knock down. Davey took the stool and was upset and depressed. Alex Enlund in a calm manner gave quality advice. Cameron Hardy and Matt Inman cracking jokes that made Davey smile. Raising his spirits and with new ideas for the next round. This work cannot be underestimated.

Round1 2: As requested a rejuvenated Davey was now landing the better strikes. Was in for a double leg take down, but Martinez shrugged it off. Back on their feet more strikes and exchanging kicks. Commentator Michael Bisping gave Cavello’s restaurant in Spennymoor a shoutout. Martinez the younger man by nine years seemed to slow down first. With 2 minutes left in the round grappler Grant switched stance and landed a left body hook and right hook to the head. The dragon dropped heavily and Davey pounced. A couple of blows landed and the referee had no choice, but to stop the contest.

The wins and two knock outs in a row. Two, well deserved, $50k bonuses in a row. Top work, top result.

Only negative was the size of his foot afterwards. It had blown up like a balloon.

Happy mothers day to Mrs Grant.
