Mike Grundy 12 and 2, 34, 5’7” Team Kaobon vs Lando “Groovy” Vannata 11,5,2 29, 5’9” Jackson Wink

Groovy has seven decisions on his UFC record. He is a durable guy. Other than decisions his only loss is a D’Arce choke by Tony Fergusson in 2016. No shame there! This is his first fight at featherweight. The gamble is that by dropping 10 lbs (4.5kg) he keeps lightweight power and the featherweights can’t hurt him. Greg Jackson and Mike Winklejohn should know how to prepare their man.

Liverpool’s Mike is a top class submission fighter and the most accomplished British wrestler on the UFC roster. He is 1 and 1 in the UFC. He would have fought vetran Nik Lentz in January, but unfortunately tested positive for covid and had to withdraw. This is a good match up. Grundy will be putting Lando’s good chin to the test and Vannata will have to work for everything against Mike. This fight deserves to be further up the card and demonstrates how stacked UFC262 is.

I’m hoping that Lando comes adrift against Mike and Grundy grinds out a late stoppage.
